PETOSKEY – The Christmas season is coming soon, bringing with it Christmas carols, gifts and renditions of “The Nutcracker”.
Beautiful Feet Dance Studio has already prepared and rehearsed its interpretation of ballet – the very first for the studio.
“This is our first performance of ‘The Nutcracker’ and the very first time we are doing it,” said Amanda Moffett, studio owner and teacher.
“We’ve been preparing since July and it’s really exciting because it’s something new for our daughters. It’s a really special thing because ballet is so well known and such a beautiful Christmas tradition,” he said. she declared.
Moffett, who grew up playing “The Nutcracker” with the Crooked Tree Arts Center ballet program, knows the importance of ballet to his students and to them of being able to participate in a performance opportunity like this.
“It’s always been a part of my life and I watched movies like any other girl,” she said. “The girls are really looking forward to another performance and bringing this magical land and performance to the community.”
The next show will feature most of the studio’s dancers between the ages of 2 and 21.
The show will also feature excerpts from the entirety of “The Nutcracker” and have two performances, one at 1 pm and the second at 4 pm on Sunday, November 28 at the Great Lakes Center for the Arts in Bay Harbor.
Moffett is eager not only to be able to perform the ballet, but also to give his students the opportunity to dance on a bigger stage.
“It is a very popular place and one that they have been great to work with,” she said. “Of course we want to exhibit our dancers in different venues and give them the opportunity to perform. I’m so excited now to be able to do that and start this tradition and give these girls great memories.”
Tickets for the next shows are available now and cost $ 15 per adult and $ 12 per child aged 10 and under. Tickets can be purchased online from the studio’s website at www.beautiulfeetdancestudio.com.
