Opening of a new dance studio in Scunthorpe for people of all ages

A local artist and dance teacher opens a new dance studio in Scunthorpe.

Lauren Blanchard will open Studio 7 at the new School of Theater Arts on October 7th.

Based at Red Cross Hall on Brumby Wood Lane Scunthorpe, the school will offer ballet, tap, modern dance, street dance, musical theater and fitness classes, as well as ballet lessons for children and adults. for babies and mini-movers, a nursery movement course based on nursery rhymes and songs for children under 5

Lauren trained locally at Wendy Foster Theater School and then at the prestigious Performers College London in dance and musical theater.

Lauren is an ISTD (Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing) graduate dance teacher and students will be able to take exams in different dance genres with ISTD.

Since her graduation, Lauren has played several professional roles in musical theater and taught at several dance schools across the country, she has choreographed numerous musical plays and festival competitions.

Lauren has starred in the summer season show for Tony Peers Productions at Scarborough Spa for the past three years and has been the lead female role in the Scunthorpe Pantomime alongside Annie Fanny for the past two years.

Most recently, Lauren’s hosted dance workshops which gave local dancers the opportunity to dance with West End and Hollywood star Adam Garcia and dancers from 42nd Street in the West End. She has many professional contacts within the theater industry and will continue to offer workshops throughout the year.

Lauren said: “It has been my ambition to start a dance school from a young age and although I hope to continue professional work, I now want to focus on giving local young people the same opportunities as ‘she.
