School of Dance hosts the first Dance Studio Day in November

Dance students and teachers are invited to join Ohio University School of Dance faculty and current students for Dance Studio Day on Saturday, November 5.

The event offers a full day of fun and educational dance activities designed to help participants progress in the discipline. Dance Studio Day is open to high school dancers of all levels and runs from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Ohio University.

During Dance Studio Day, students will have the opportunity to participate in masterclasses with OHIO faculty and students, and meet current dance majors and featured alumni to learn more. about the exciting opportunities available at dance school and fine arts college.

“This event will be a unique opportunity for dancers and teachers to immerse themselves in the exciting and warm embrace of the Ohio University environment and the brilliance of its School of Dance community. Our students and faculty are eager to share their passion for movement, self-expression, dedication to high academic rigor, and shared learning. The dance school provides a very supportive environment, and we invite anyone who wants to experience this amazing opportunity in OHIO,” says Zelma Badu-Younge, dance teacher and director of the dance school.

Participating students will receive individual feedback from professors and advanced students to help them refine their skills as artists. And as an added benefit, current high school students can choose to use this experience as an audition.

Students must register for Dance Studio Day prior to the day of the event. There is no charge to attend.
